A Series of Unfortunate Events

For any of you familiar with the series "A Series of Unfortunate Events" you will recall how the first book starts.  If you are looking for a happy story, with a happy ending this is not the story for you to read..... Yep, that pretty much sums up the first 5 days of July, only I really am trying to find a happy ending to the story!

Event one: Olivia hits a post with Dave's little white car.....
Damage: $5000
Positive: No one was hurt, law enforcement wasn't involved, insurance covers all but $500, and a lesson was learned (we hope).

Event two: The basement floods and continues to flood....
Damage: Not sure, need to contact someone with a little more knowledge than us.
Positive: Haven't found one yet

Event Three: Freezer door is left open over night
Damage: Lots of  food has to be thrown out
Positive: My freezer is defrosted.

Event Four:  Our Mortgage Company failed to pay insurance for the first 5 months we lived in our new home.
Damage: $532
Positive: We didn't lose our house over it.

Event Five: Shaylee and friend roll golf cart down the back of Giraffe Hill (in neutral non-the-less).
Damage: $90 copays, $75 x-rays, crutches and a boot for approx. 4 weeks
Positive:  They both lived to tell the story, nothing was broken, and we think a lesson was learned.

By the time the golf cart incident occurred I was ready to throw in the towel!  However, I have remained calm and will carry on.

Please let the rest of July go a little smoother...
