Ice Skating in the Park

Today since the kids were out of school and Dave cancelled staff meeting we decided to take the kids to Merlin Olsen Park in Logan to the ice skating rink. SO FUN!!! Shaylee was excited because she didn't have to rent skates because she fits the ones Dave bought me one of our first Christmases together. They obviously haven't been used much as she soon found a big blister on the heel of one of her feet. But she still had a blast. Being our adventurous one she took right off to the ice and had so much fun. Olivia and Taite hung back for a while. Taite was upset at first because we didn't go to the indoor rink that has the bar to hold on to. After going a couple laps holding on to Dave and me he finally let go and had lots of fun. Olivia too by the end was going pretty good. Dave and I opted to stay in our boots and just hung out on the ice with the kids. Afterwards we warmed up at Village Inn with dinner and hot chocolate. Such a fun way to spend a winter Monday out of school.
