This year we celebrated the Fourth of July very low-key. Because of the long weekend we had with family at the farm and the many late nights we slept in instead of going to the Lewiston 5K and Parade that we usually do. Then, in the afternoon we headed back out to the farm. The day was a little cooler so the kids spent their time on the dirt hill and the horses. We had another delicious cook-out, followed by a mohawk cutting party (for the boys that were daring enough), and then viewing the fireworks from Lewiston on the grass in front of the house. My favorite part of the day was when Travis, Masen, Taite, and Jordan held a flag raising ceremony for us. It was neat to see the young boys in our family show respect for such a special symbol of our country. It was also neat for all of us to participate in this simple, but yet so special experience. I am grateful to all those who have, do, and will serve our country to keep us safe, and to ensure our freedoms that have been so valiantly fought for. God Bless America!
