November Updates

As we are sending November on its way, I thought I would just hurry and do a quick highlight of the month.  We have had a few ups and downs this month and I am learning that you never know what to expect from teen-age daughters!

Olivia's basketball season is off to a great start.  Currently they are 3~1 on the season and looking for lots more wins.  She still has 16 more games before the end of January so lots of game time still ahead.  She is playing great and just trying to find where she belongs on the team.  It has been hard for her to find her place this year with junior, sophomore, and freshman all playing their part.  As I have watched her come home from the gym frustrated, excited, mad, happy, etc. sometimes it is hard to find the right words to say to her to help her with her feelings.  I just have to keep reminding her that what she puts into it, she will get out of it.  Keep shooting girl!

We attended Olivia's soccer banquet this month where she earned her varsity letter for the second year in a row.  It was a fun year watching her learn a new position, make new friends in older nad younger grades, and work hard at a sport she loves.  Soccer has become her favorite sport, and she can't wait to get back out on the field and get playing again.

Shaylee is loving being back on the court with her Cache Valley friends new and old.  One thing about Shaylee is that where ever she goes the party is not far behind.  She certainly has a way of making others feel comfortable and and having fun.  School has been a huge success for Shaylee this year, and she was just admitted into the Preston Junior High Honor Society.  I am so proud of her for working hard, staying caught up, and doing her best.  Biggest challenge for mom is keeping her away from the boys!  She is so different from Olivia, and is certainly boy crazy!  Not ready for the boyfriend situations, and she is WAY to young in my opinion.  Now just to convince her. 

Taite's highlight this month was Dave's hound Red having puppies.  I am worried that when it comes time to get rid of them he is really going to struggle.  He daily has to go check them out and play with them.  He makes sure they have water when it is cold, and feeds them every night.  He sure loves his animals!  Taite's primary program was this past week, certainly not his favorite thing about church!  He is always the first one to remind us to pray, bless the food, read the scriptures, ask for a blessing, etc.  However, singing is his absolute least favorite things when it comes to church, and it shows as he is begrudginly particpating.  At least this year he memorized his part and seemed good about sharing that.  Now we just have to get him through one more program and then we can break the news to him that once he is done with primary he gets to give sacrament meeting talks.
