Success......

Hunting season is in FULL swing here at the Priestley House. Dave and my brother, Shane, started out the deer hunt at 4:00 AM hiking into one canyon and ended the day at around 8:00 PM being brought home by a friend a few canyons over on the other side of the mountain. Yes, Dave once again decided to do his famous hike~hunt and go 'til you think you are going to die, then go some more! I didn't think either one of them would be moving the next day, but they both took the med of choice (ibuprofen), got some good sleep and were up and ready to go again the next day. Shane took off hunting and Dave took off to retrieve the 4-wheeler and truck from their start point from the day before. Dave had a successful hunt with a nice 3x4 buck. Who can complain about their husband shooting his deer on opening day?

Elk season opened the next Thursday and again Dave's alarm was beeping before 4 AM (rude awakening for those non-hunters in the house). He took off on foot once again, but unfortunately all the hiking didn't pay off until his second time out. Lucky for him this past Saturday he was on the hill well before light and just at sunrise shot a nice 5x6 bull. Yet again calling on friends to get him out of his cliffs and ridges that he had hiked into. This time going in on Idaho having to pack out on horses out of Utah. Quite the all day ordeal.

He is now down to one tag ~ Montana antelope. He and Roger have made one unsuccessful trip seeing very few animals, but I am sure another day trip is in the making.

Happy Hunting to all those still out in the woods.
